Romann Magnin est un jeune réalisateur français, formé à l’ISA, École Supérieure de l’Image et du Son, où il poursuit un BTS Cinéma, avec l’ambition d’intégrer par la suite les grandes écoles de cinéma.

Depuis six ans, il collabore étroitement avec Ari Drabinowski, avec qui il développe un cinéma audacieux et protéiforme, explorant une grande diversité de genres, du western à la science-fiction, en passant par le film d’horreur. Leurs courts-métrages, salués dans plusieurs festivals, ont notamment reçu le Prix de la Révélation au Fantasy Film Festival, récompensant un univers singulier et en constante évolution.

Parallèlement à sa formation cinématographique, il étudie le violoncelle depuis treize ans au Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, développant une sensibilité musicale exigeante qui nourrit sa vision artistique.

Son approche du cinéma se construit à la croisée des arts, avec une attention particulière portée à l’image, au rythme et à la matière sonore. À travers une œuvre en devenir, il affirme une volonté de repousser les limites narratives et esthétiques du milieu cinématographique.

Romann Magnin is a young French filmmaker currently studying for a BTS in Cinema at ESIS, École Supérieure de l’Image et du Son, with the ambition of continuing his training in one of France’s top film schools.

​

For the past six years, he has been working in close collaboration with Ari Drabinowski, with whom he develops a bold and multifaceted cinematic language. Together, they explore a wide range of genres, from westerns to science fiction, including horror, pushing the boundaries of narrative and form. Their short films have been recognized in several festivals and were notably awarded the Revelation Prize at the Fantasy Film Festival, honoring their distinctive and evolving creative universe.

Alongside his film education, he has been studying the cello for thirteen years at the CRR (Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional) of Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, nurturing a demanding musical practice that deeply informs his artistic sensibility.

His approach to filmmaking stands at the crossroads of various art forms, with a strong focus on image, rhythm, and sound texture. Through a growing body of work, he expresses a clear intent to challenge the narrative and aesthetic conventions of the cinematic field.
